The situation
Between the unit and the job site there is only the border
Schaffhausen is almost entirely surrounded by German territory, and Jestetten borders directly on Neuhausen am Rheinfall. Anyone staying there is not near the job site, they are on its municipal boundary. Hotels in Schaffhausen and Neuhausen charge per room and night, and over assignments of weeks or months that is the most expensive item in the costing.

The Jestetten-Hardt crossing lies directly between Jestetten and Neuhausen am Rheinfall. From Hohentengen the route runs over the Rhine crossing at Eglisau. From the Klettgau it goes over the Erzingen crossing to Trasadingen. All three are open around the clock and as a rule without waiting. From Jestetten station the S9 and S65 reach Schaffhausen in around ten minutes. Neuhausen and the town
On the former industrial site in Neuhausen, the RhyTech site is becoming a whole quarter, and in town the Kammgarn site is being developed.
Geissberg cantonal hospital
The modernisation of the Schaffhausen hospitals comes to around 400 million francs and runs into the 2030s. The car park and energy centre have been under construction since summer 2026, and the new hospital building follows from 2027.
Pharma and precision
The largest private employer in the canton is a pharmaceutical site with around 1,400 staff, investing continuously in plant and clean rooms. Alongside it, mechanical engineering, packaging technology and watchmaking in Schaffhausen, Herblingen and Neuhausen.
