Booking with us instead of through a portal
Booking direct is usually cheaper, because the large platforms charge commission that we do not have to pass on. On top of that, you write to us and not to a service desk in another time zone. If something is missing or stuck, we are usually there within the hour.
What there is to do
- The Rhine at the door. Paths along the bank in both directions, swimming and boats in summer, ferries and weirs where you stay longer than planned
- The Black Forest in half an hour. Walking and cycling in the southern Black Forest. In winter there is snow up there while the meadows down by the Rhine stay green
- Across the border. Schaffhausen with the Rhine Falls is twenty minutes away, Stein am Rhein a little further, Zurich under an hour
- Small towns. Waldshut, Laufenburg and Bad Säckingen in one afternoon, plus the longest covered wooden bridge in Europe and the Chilbi fair in Waldshut in August
- Where we eat ourselves. Village inns, a few terraces looking over the water, addresses you would not guess from the road
Your hosts
We live in the region and manage the houses ourselves. There is no agency in between and no key handover to wait for. If something is missing, call us. We are glad to give tips for the area, we know the paths and the landlords.
