01 · On the water
The Rhine at the door
Riverside paths in both directions, swimming and boats in summer, plus ferries and weirs where you end up standing longer than you planned.
02 · Higher up
The Black Forest in half an hour
Walking and cycling in the southern Black Forest. In winter there is snow up there while the meadows down by the Rhine stay green.
03 · Across the border
Rhine Falls, Stein am Rhein, Zurich
Schaffhausen with the Rhine Falls is twenty minutes away, Stein am Rhein a little further, and Zurich is under an hour.
04 · Small towns
Waldshut, Laufenburg, Bad Säckingen
Three old towns in one afternoon, plus the longest covered wooden bridge in Europe, and in August the Chilbi fair in Waldshut.
05 · Eating out
Where we eat ourselves
Village inns, a few terraces looking out over the water, and places you would never guess at from the road.

We live here, not just our flats
We live in the area and manage our houses ourselves. There is no agency in between and no key handover to wait around for. If something is missing, call us. We are glad to suggest things to do nearby, we know the footpaths and the innkeepers.
